Doctoral Students in Applied Measurement and Research
Methods
Greg Applegate has previous experience being a computer technician/instructor
and a high school teacher. His primary research interests include
test validity and reliability, differential item functioning, and
general measurement issues. He is particularly interested in improving
the fairness, accuracy, and efficiency of educational measurement.
Danny
Breidenbach comes to educational measurement by
way of mathematics education. He is a former teacher and teacher
educator. He is interested in multiple aspects of validity, most
notably DIF detection by way of logistic regression and construct
validity by way of confirmatory factor analysis.
Brent
Drake is
studying a joint
specialization in Applied Measurement and Research Methods and
Motivation Theory. Research interests include educational and psychological
measurement, test score reliability and validity,
multi-method research methods, motivation, and adaptive classroom
environments.
Tao (Tom) Hong has research
interests include test validity, differential item functioning,
measurement invariance, and structural equation modeling.
Jia B Lu has research interests
in educational measurement and student success secondary level.
Soo
Jin Park has research interests in
applied measurement for special populations. In detail, she is
interested in applying various psychometric methods (1) to assess
the students' cognitive characteristics and deficits (2) to evaluate
and analysis of the programs and strategies for student's academic
improvement. For more information, see her webpage

Lai Kwan Pei (Candy) has research interests in
item response theory, structural equation modeling, multivariate
statistical analysis and differential item functioning. She received
a bachelor’s degree and masters’ degree in statistics from the Hong
Kong University of Science and Technology. She is working as a lab
consultant in the Purdue University Psychometric Instruction /
Investigation Laboratory.
Ningying Wu has research interests in
differential item functioning and multidimensionality. She also is
pursuing a Master’s degree in statistics. She is working as a lab
consultant in the Purdue University Psychometric Instruction /
Investigation Laboratory.
Recent Graduates in Applied
Measurement and Research Methods
Jin Eun Yoo, Ph.D. is a Psychometrician/Research
Scientist with Pearson Educational Measurement.
Jason Immekus, Ph.D. completed post-doctoral
work as a Research Associate in the Center for
Health Statistics, at the University of Illinois Chicago under the
direction of Dr.
R.D. Bock and Dr. Robert Gibbons. Jason is an Assistant
Professor in the
Department of Educational Research & Administration, Kremen School
of Education & Human Development at
California State University, Fresno.
